Renegades of Funk take over Agitator in June

Renegades of Funk (ROF) is a Chicago based nonprofit Hip Hop organization that embraces the diversity and inclusiveness inherent in Hip Hop culture. ROF’s mission is to preserve history, teach, elevate, and empower communities by motivating artists and young individuals to reinforce grassroots initiatives promoting social justice, community involvement, educational initiatives, collaborative networking, and global outreach.

We share resources and collaborate collectively to contribute to the improvement of our shared world. Renegades of Funk members benefit from access to the wealth of resources of the entire ROF network and community.

- OPENING RECEPTION:: June 1, 6–10 pm
The public is invited to the gallery to meet the artists and see their art installation. Additional artworks will be for sale.

- Hip Hop Heritage Museum Panel:: June 15, 2–4 pm
Join the discussion at Agitator with Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum and members of ABC (Artistic Bombing Crew) who discuss Back In Da Hood, with guest Dj Non Stop who is celebrating 40 years as a Hip Hop DJ.


- KuazeOne Book Release & Art Sale:: June 22, 6–9 pm
Artist KUAZEONE is releasing VOLUMEONE, his second book in 2 years. Come celebrate its publication & purchase a copy. The artist will also have art and merch that day at the gallery for sale.

- CLOSING RECEPTION:: June 29, 6–10 pm
With a presentation by Jose Echevarria, a.k.a. Gringo, who was born and raised in Chicago. He was lead choreographer for the Allstar Dancers, & he wrote The Real Dance Fever books, which were adapted into a dancsical play produced by Urban Theater Company of Chicago. Additionally there will be a hip-hop dance presentation by Chicago's very own Cari.
