Mentoring Depth & Collaboration

The Artist In Residence Program

Agitator Gallery has been offering residencies to Guest Artists since 2018

Agitator Artist Collective offers opportunities for invited artists to collaborate with the Agitator members and take up residence onsite in the gallery for various periods of time. This usually includes access to one of two onsite independent studio spaces and includes opportunities to organize workshops, perform with & exhibit with Agitator members and curate their own exhibition and events in the gallery.

Agitator holds open calls to apply for the Artists in Residence program twice a year and extends invitations to diverse artist-curators with various racial, socioeconomic, gender, and sexual identities to strengthen our creative community. Part of our mission is to platform underrepresented artists and engage underserved audiences with a local approach informed by a global vision. Another goal is to give young “emerging” artists opportunities through the A.I.R. program.

The Artists in Residence are exceptional practitioners in their fields who collaborate closely with Agitator members in making and showing their art as well as teaching, sharing resources and building experiences which contribute to—and amplify the voice of—members of diverse local communities.
