And Now
Stories from the Edge
Aug 10 - 24, 2024
We are on the precipice of a world that could soon be unrecognizable.
How is the world changing? What could that mean? What agency do we have in that change? How can we take control of the change for the common good? AND NOW is an exhibition that explores those questions. It will be on display in Chicago during August 2024, when the Democratic National Convention is in town.
Opening Reception :: August 10, 6 – 10 pm
Closing Reception & Performances :: August 24, 6 – 10 pm

AND NOW: Stories from the Edge was curated by Gretchen Hasse, Agitator co-founding member.
All participating artists were asked to reflect on the current state of our country and make art that speaks about this specific moment in time. This exhibition is a continuation / follow up / response to /inspired by the 2020 Agitator exhibition “And THEN” which asked artists to envision and comment on the state of this country post-the COVID pandemic (which was in full swing and had forced the closure of Agitator’s gallery space at the time). Copies of the 2020 published catalog for “And THEN?: A Digital Exhibition” were also displayed and sold in the “And NOW” exhibition.
