Renegades of Funk (ROF) is a Chicago based nonprofit Hip Hop organization that embraces the diversity and inclusiveness inherent in Hip Hop culture. ROF’s mission is to preserve history, teach, elevate, and empower communities by motivating artists and young individuals to reinforce grassroots initiatives promoting social justice, community involvement, educational initiatives, collaborative networking, and global outreach.

We share resources and collaborate collectively to contribute to the improvement of our shared world. Renegades of Funk members benefit from access to the wealth of resources of the entire ROF network and community.

OPENING RECEPTION :: Saturday, June 1 / 6 - 10 pm
Meet the artists, view the exhibit and support the local graffiti arts community. Pablo E. Ramirez reads poetry from his anthology, POCHO LOVE: Pilsen Heart Beats to Chicago Streets. George John Larson performs experimental fusion music in a full body pig suit as his alter ego, “LARDO.”

- PUERTO RICAN POP-UP :: Saturday June 8 / 12 - 6 pm
Flash ABC and Sinnester will be in front of Agitator celebrating their Puerto Rican heritage selling flags and original t-shirts. We’ll have pinchos and couquitos too.

- ARTIST’S PANEL DISCUSSION :: Saturday June 15 / 2 – 4 pm
Join Chicago’s Hip Hop Heritage Museum and members of Artistic Bombing Crew (ABC) with DJ NonStop to discuss Chicago’s Hip Hop history & art in Back In Da Hood.

- BOOK RELEASE PARTY :: Saturday, June 22 / 6 - 9 pm
Chicago Artist KUAZEONE is releasing Representing the Midwest his second book in 2 years. His first book, Abstracting the Typography, included over 250 graffiti pics of walls, bridges, illegals, & trains as well as other background material.

- CLOSING RECEPTION :: Saturday, June 29 / 6 - 10 pm
At the closing there will be presentations on the history of Hip Hop dance with book author Jose Echevarria (aka Gringo) and a Hip Hop dance demo with Cari Bermudez.
